This models headshot was taken against a graffiti background in a studio with controllable light conditions. It compliments the models clothing and beautiful bone structure.
Jo I know as a local photographer in Nottingham. Admiring her classic natural beauty she agreed to my taking a series based on these elements-that less is often more.
Steve is unique in the sense that he holds a space of equanimity. His calm and open minded attitude allows for a very comfortable working environment whereby I was able to give some input and I felt totally comfortable showing my true self for the camera.
Shooting with Steve was such an organic process that I was hardly aware that he was taking photos. This allowed me to feel so natural and relaxed that I believe we made some very authentic images.
Thank you Steve. Unobtrusively ever present, your camera capturing precious, private moments of actors and crew. You provided the most moving and truthful documentation – your Photograph Book provided a story of what the play could not – the magic of the cherished ordinary backstage
Headshot #1
I did a series of portraits and headshots for the charity Framework in Nottingham. The decision was made to make them situational. Here with Anthony’s role as a support worker where listening is important he looks off camera at a colleague. The graffiti wall i found locally was the perfect backdrop for his clothing and hairstyle.

Headshot #2
Denise is a family councillor and wanted something that portrayed her approachable manner. We shot this portrait in her home using the natural daylight as a backlight and rim with a side flash complementing to create a natural looking composition.
Headshot #3
I did a series of headshots for Chloe. Having taken some studio headshots we took some locational headshots nearby in Nottingham. Chloe was interested in some grittier roles as an actress and this portrait straight to camera taken against a brick wall adds purpose and texture. The receding focus creates a more dynamic composition.

Headshot #4
Gillian is a local Nottinghamshire artist whose work I illustrated for a website. Her studio was an ideal setting for this headshot where she is surrounded by all the tools of her trade. The sunlight created a strong rim light and a main key and three quarter backlight completed the composition.
Headshot #5.
Litha and I worked together on her model portfolio in Nottingham.
Litha positioned herself in the sunlight for this portrait which sculpts her profile and body perfectly; no additional lighting was required but a very dynamic composition was achieved.

Hello,
After starting out in the music industry I shifted into television and film which is where I developed my knowledge behind the camera.
I served my apprenticeship years ago with a company called Mentorn Films and ran a studio in Soho London where I would light and film celebrities invited to talk and discuss their latest projects.
As a film assistant on location my principal role was setting up lights and knowing what lights worked best and where and when to position them; bringing out the best in different environments which has served as comprehensive experience.
Later in life I switched into stills photography & hopefully my portfolio will speak for itself!
If you have any questions or would like a quote please feel free to drop me a line.
